At the Watou artfestival 2012, Vanmechelen will show Coming World - C.C.P., an installation about evolution.The enormous wooden egg is, as always in the oeuvre of Vanmechelen, a metaphor for energy and mass. In Coming world, this egg uncovers the fanatical movement of each individual, but at the same time, it reveals the story of the entire specie. Through the labyrinth that our lives are, uncontrolled and apparently aimless, it searches its own way. Creating his own identity but also that of our future generations. Past and future identities clot together. The location is found, the date determined, the egg stops and is ready to hatch...

Coming World will be shown at the Douviehoeve in Watou.
