The CC®P is an artistic, genetic project and an alliance between human geneticist professor Jean-Jacques Cassiman and artist Koen Vanmechelen. The objective of their collaboration is to investigate the genetics of the chicken.
The unique CCP set-up provides scientists namely with an interesting model to investigate the genetic diversity between breeds and makes it possible to assess the consequences of crossbreedings. Is this breeding program the start of creating true genetic differences? And what are the eventual outcomes? These are the questions the research project tries to answer. But the chicken always remains a metaphor for humanity…
