Art The Hague, is a contemporary art fair presenting a combination of renowned galleries such as Galerie Ramakers, Livingstone Gallery and young galleries like Assembled by Root and Lauwer Art. Wildford X (Temse, Belgium) will be showing this year's main artist; Koen Vanmechelen with an installation entitled 'Cosmopolitan Renaissance'.
Change is the new normal. The world is rapidly transforming, and so is the artist. He has to. The Spiritus Mundi is transformed. A Cosmopolitan Renaissance is at hand, but only if we make the combination again between imagination and knowledge. Proactively and actively, as illustrated by the plans and designs of projects spread out over the globe. Together they form a wave in the tide we need.
- Koen Vanmechelen
The fringe programme of Art The Hague includes the ATH special exhibition (Focus Women in Art), Company Collections exhibition, lectures on contemporary art, guided tours to leading art collections and a Cosmocafe organised as part of Vanmechelen's Human Rights Pavilion project.
