As part of the retrospective exhibition of Italian designer, artist and theoretician Enzo Mari at C-Mine Genk, 'HET LABO' pays tribute to the master's love of animals with the exhibition 'LABO ENZOo' running from Feb. 11 to May 29, 2023. Koen Vanmechelen's 'Medusa' stands among a motley menagerie of fabulous animals and newly composed creatures.
Inspired by Mari's "puzzle 16 animali" and other beastly projects, HET LABO is organizing "LABO ENZOo," an exhibition that gets to work on Enzo Mari's legacy; the game "The Fable Game," the booklets "The Egg and the Chicken," "The Apple and the Butterfly," his "Studies for a Gorrilla," his drawings of the goose, the wolf and the panther, among others, for "The Natures Studies" and his inimitable animal puzzle for Danese.
Reason for HET LABO to ask designers and artists to unleash the animal tamer in themselves, including Koen Vanmechelen. The fabulous result can be admired in the exhibition 'LABO ENZOo' on Vennestraat 85.
